Hi, I have a treo600 from verizon. I ran across a problem with the network preference setting. Aparently it is set to never time out, which in this case cost me $179.67 in additional data charges (accumulated within 23hrs because the phone didnt disconnect even after I closed the application which used the connection). Granted Verizon took care of it, but they also locked the setting where you can adjust the time out for a data connection. Does anyone know how to override the lock-out or how to adjust the network timeout otherwise. To find the settings on the treo go to the main screen, tap on prefs, in the top right corner change it to networks then tap on modify. the problem is that even after I signed off the application, especially MMS the network connection stays active and in standby unless I deactive it from the main menue. Any other service provider offering this phone lets you manually adjust the network time-out preference. And after a very bad experience two days ago with PalmOne techsupport on a different matter (the ringer stops working unless you reset the phone every 24 hrs or so) I decided to return the phone in exchange for a LG 6100. The Treo 600 is a nice toy but not worth all the trouble it already caused me. ☹️ ☹️ ☹️

The phone is constantly either connected to the network or looking for a connection, if you already splurged 400 or more for the treo you must get the right plan, vzw offers a data paln for 44.95 that is unlimited i think its specifically for the treo. This would defiantely solve your problem.
