"free" ring tones generate spam?

I clicked on one of the links here for "free" ring tones. Nothing's really free. If I give them my cell phone email address, am I likely to start getting spam from these outfits?

the "free" ringtone sites can definately generate spam, have run into a couple of sites that if you get the free ringtone they will send you ads and in most cases you'll be charged 1.99 minimum to recieve these ads, sites i've heard about are dirtyhipp.com (25000) and jamster.com (75555 or 35555)
the numbers listed in the brackets are the numbers you'd text to, to get the downlaods
