Text Messaging and your Bank Account....

I had an idea earlier today..

Does anyone agree with it??

Have your cell number tied to your bank account, and every time a transaction goes through, you get a text message.

I think it would be useful when you (or your spouse) make a withdrawl from an ATM, or when a check you sent out two weeks ago finally is cashed by your bank.

It would also help to prevent access you didn't approve into your account by someone else....

Does anyone agree?

My netspend card does this.

It sends it like this:
snd@netspend.net /$xxx.xx available after $26.57 purchase at ED DEBEVICS #68 LOMBARD IL on Jun 15 at 4:45 PM

I usually get them 30 seconds to a minute after the transaction. I get them with my direct deposits too. The minute it does in, i get a test.
