hmmm why would sprint or nextel be looking into ev-dv? hmmmmm let me see

nextel uses iden800 iden is a dead end just like gsm, nextel has to reband to the 1900 mhz, oh and wait nextel owns exclusive rights to qchat! qchat which is pure cdma ptt (for you that means push to talk) qchat runs ok on ev-do but still has lag and doesn't give the added voice capacity of ev-do hence the need for ev-dv. it gives huge data speeds amazeing voice capacity and ptt is almost as good as iden

why would sprint want ev-dv? well there ready link will work ok on ev-dv but still not good enough to compeat with iden. sprint wants all of sothernlink and nextels customers.

now qualicom has put there ev-dv development on hold for now you are correct.

now hear is what you do not know. there are some asian markets which are running ev-dv they are mostly in south korea. hear is what you aslo do not know. sprint was ready to launch ev-dv but there was one snag. samsung is the only company (a south korean company) that could provide key componets. moto, nortel and the others were not ready for ev-dv so sprint pushed the time frame back on it.

hear is also another thing you do not understand when it comes to cdma carriers like sprint actually do a lot of there own independent development with qualicom. sprint has there own labs where they contract people from all the manufacturers to develop the technology.

by the way q-chat does not work on wimax. wimax would require an entirely new network. and wimax has not even been used in the real world.

why in the world would sprint want ev-dv when wimax? you gsm people will never understand that with cdma a simple software upgrade you can significantly boost perfromance. gsm has to switch technology if it wants any more performance.
