"Field Full"

I have a Blackberry 7100g. Not because I'm some business person... but merely because I'm a net junky & this just made sense. đ
So anyway - when I want to post something on a message board... or frankly... I'm talking about my livejournal đ¤ it gives me the "field full" message rather early on in the field. I don't understand why. It's not the website... & I've typed much more on my computer... but the damn crackberry won't accept it. Is this a setting I can change... tweak... or am I screwed?
BTW - I would have posted this in the RIM forum if there were any living souls there.
