I don't even loan out tools and guns are a hell of a lot more expensive and dangerous than tools. Someone uses my tools while I'm gone, worst that could happen is I'm out $100 worth of tools. Someone has access to my guns while I'm gone I'm potentially looking at prison time. No thanks. I wouldn't let anyone borrow a gun for the same reason...there's the chance that something horrible could happen, and guns are worth a lot more money than tools.
