What a raging waste of time and money

by Jiangshu    Dec 6, 2012, 6:23 PM

I got a call from the allergist's office saying they had an appointment if I could make it in in the next 45 minutes. Otherwise I would have to wait about a month. I ditch work, grab the kid and head in. We see the allergist and she's more concerned with his "dry" skin(chamomile(sp) lotion is chalky) and eczema which we already have lotion for. She tells me we can't do a skin test because he's on benadryl. She leaves. The nurse comes in and hands me a saline nose rinse bottle, a steroid, and perscribes more. For his nose, because a slide detected hints of a virus. In cold season. For a kid in daycare. Caution, steroid use may cause glaucoma. So, I miss an hour of work, pay for an appointment and perscriptions I'll never use for symptoms that didn't bring me in just to be told to come back next week and pay again for the appointment I needed in the first place. Oh, she also disregarded the hives, because he didn't have any, because he's on Benadryl!

GRAHHHHHHHHH. It was a horrible waste of what will likely come out to $200.00.
