How does this conflict impact your lives? Thus far the US has had no involvement and our foreign aid spending has remained consistent. Jerusalem will remain a hotspot so long as Israel stands. Hell, Israel will remain a hotspot so long as it stands. Pitting two religious extremes against each other in such a religious region is destined for conflict. Why was Israel not chastised for their land grab in 1967 up until recently? Oh, because the media told you it was an important issue? Get off it. You will have forgotten about this entirely during the next news cycle.
