Most manufacturers do. All higher end devices aren't that cheap to replace if you don't have Asurion and aren't due for an upgrade.
Get that extended warranty from Best Buy if you shop there. When I worked there, we had a guy that ran over his laptop on "accident" and they replaced the entire laptop with a new laptop as they deemed the other one unrepairable.
