The games are completely and utterly dissimilar.
Because one game appeals to a casual audience and another game appeals to a more neck bearded audience doesn't not mean they are cut from the same cloth or in any way shape or form similar. And their remarkable lack of similarity isn't a reason to some how connect them either.
You know what The Sim's for nerds is? Sim City. You know, the game that actually gave rise to The Sims in an attempt to reach a more casual audience. Are you sure I'm not talking to a second grader?
