Just like Gadget Junky said, it depends on what network you want it on. It also depends on what you're planning on doing with the phone. Pretty much any phone is good depending on the usage.

I love the opera browser (that I also have on my bb). Some people complain that it's a tad slow, but it's pulling up webpages like a desktop computer which has way more information to load than the mobile version of a site.

Since it's windows mobile there's a lot you can do with the phone, but I enjoyed having RSS feeds on the phone (there is a special icon for it in programs) that is easy to use.

Touch Flow (the phones "theme") is pretty nifty as well. It's really fun to play with and I would suggest going to see one and handling the phone in person. As with any phone, there is only so much you can do by reading articles on the web.
