They are already in use in China and parts of Latin America.

But if you mean U.S. carriers, I doubt it. The only major benefit to U.S. CDMA carriers would be to offer an easier way for customers to use GSM phones and networks overseas (there are R-UIM cards that are SIM-compatible). But it seems they've already settled on dual-tech CDMA/GSM phones as their preferred solution.
