don't do it. wait till they finish the altell aquisition (sp). they did buy some areas that are roaming gsm.
and another thing, the iphone?
really? why would you want that crap on VZ?
and don't well me it's all that. for a company like that to leave stuff out on a phone that should have it is rediculous.

Sorry but its not gonna work.
First off its nearly impossible to get an unlocked iPhone 3g these days, unless you REALLY know what you're doing, know people, or have alot of money.
Second, use it on VZW? No... never. VZW uses digital phones (no sim cards) on a CDMA network (completely different set up) Where AT&T runs analog phones (can't work without SIM cards) on the GSM network.
Apple designed the iPhone specifically and exclusivly for the AT&T network, its not going to work on another network PROPERLY even if you can hack it.

The iPhone was NOT designed "specifically and exclusivly" for at&t. It is a GSM handset, so no, it will NOT work on CDMA. Also, at&t is NOT analog...

SIM cards have nothing to do with the fact something is analog or digital, but has everything to do with the type of network it's on. GSM uses SIM cards...CDMA does not.

Sounds like you have just enough info to be dangerous.
