Blackberry 8350i
I see more and more of the trend of customers going with a carrier because they have the 'cool looking phones' not because their network is most reliable or has the widest area of coverage.
Once the i8350 is available through my companies Vendor, I will be switching. It's not glittery, it's not flashy, it's a phone, with some of the most popular features available. I get awesome reception at home and work ...

No, IDEN is too slow for a VPN. Basically, any connection will be the speed of a 14.4 modem so VPN is pretty much impossible.
I'd reccomend a reliable CDMA phone with really good reception and reliability. In other words. Unless you get MAX bars, ALL the time. Forget about VPN with cellular

Sure it can. It's disabled on most non-PDAs, but it's not limited in any way since it's CDMA. Some phones you can use the MSL to go in and change it to allow calls while in a data connections. Most PDAs, again, let you do it out of the box.
says it all people. iDEN is here to stay. No matter who else comes to the table with a Push to X Solution, Sprint will reign king of the castle. Yes, the WiDEN data session connection speeds may not be that of 1xEV-DO Rev 0/A or 1xRTT for that matter, but if you look at the core groups who use Push to X solutions, they for the most part need instantaneous communications and possibely a LBS solution.
