It's all just rumors until Steve announces it. Even if Apple and Sprint are considering it, no decision is final until it's actually announced. That's how the industry works, and it's especially true with Apple.
With that said, when the CDMA iPhone was announced for Verizon, they did make it clear that there was no exclusive in that relationship. That doesn't mean it is coming to Sprint, but Apple certainly left the door open to that possibility.
