LNP is being fought tooth and nail. Lots of outfits want to either delay it or deny it. They are scared of the turn over costs.
Will T-Mobile satisfy your needs? Bo they actually have coverage and agreements where you travel? Give them a test drive before switching.
I don't know anything about the phone you want but most carriers only activate phones they carry. New contracts usually qualify for free or reduced priced phones.
Voicestream is the old name for T-Mobile. Ask them about their options.
