End of the sidekick?

In T-Mobile retail stores, T-Mobile Premium Retailers, Limited Consignment, online, and through Telesales, sales will cease on July 2.

Sidekick devices have been immensely popular over the years and T-Mobile is taking time to develop the next generation of one of our most popular messaging devices for our customers. Knowing that we are working to innovate and evolve the next generation for our customers, we determined this is the right time to stop sales. More details will be shared as they are available.

Although T-Mobile will no longer sell Sidekick devices, we will continue to provide the same excellent service and support for current Sidekick customers as we do today, including warranty exchanges.

It's only the end of the Sidekick as we currently know it, with it's association with Danger. T-Mobile actually owns the Sidekick name, and will bring out another device with a new back end. Not any time real soon, but eventually.
