Boost? Cricket? Virgin? How about the phone?
Hey, gang. It's the dude from Texas again, hoping some of you all can help clear up a few things that popped up, ironically, while doing my homework for a new phone.
So here's the deal. I've been with Cricket for 2 years, and notwithstanding some customer care issues(after reading some of y'all's posts, it looks like I'm not alone), I've been pretty satisfied.
I now feel that I'm emotionally and mentally prepared to "graduate" to an Android smartphone. This decision did not come without a lot of introspection and deep thought. My therapist was involved, and she agrees with my decision

Okay, enough screwing around. Anyway, I'd like to stay with one of the "no-contract" carriers, preferably Boost Mobile because of their "shrinkage" deal; if not, no big deal.
So does anyone have any recommendations/input on phones, carriers, etc.? A dude that I spoke with at one of the local retailers told me that as long as the phone had Android 2.2 or 2.3, it could handle Flash Player. Apparently, based on reading some of y'all's posts, that wasn't true. This concerns and confuses me, because one of the primary uses for the phone is for the convenience of having wireless access to the internet and videos. I've been using a friend's Samsung Moment for the last couple of weeks, and I really like it, especially the "real" keyboard. However, it seems like as long as the video does not originate from YouTube, it usually can't play. One of my big questions is, are there any other hidden "obstructions" I should be aware of that won't allow a video clip to play? Is it also true that Virgin and Boost Mobile use Sprint's cell towers, or is that a bunch of garbage too?
So I'm sure that you all are pretty familiar with the "no contract" phones that are out there; there's the Prevail, the Ascend II, the Optimus(V and C), the Intercept and some more that I can't think of this instant. Again, my needs are simple: I don't have 1000 pictures, videos or songs to store, but at the same time, I'd like a phone that has some of the more useful and functional Android applications, but without sacrificing a lot of speed, coverage, etc...
