problems hanging on to a signal

Nov 24, 2003, 11:15 PM
Our home location has marginal antenna reception. I am looking for phone models which will hang on to the signal.

Which service provider are you currently with? Is your phone operating digitally at your home?

There are signal boosters and base station antenna systems available for your application... but not necessarily for your service provider or current handset model...

Whadya' Got? Who are you on with and what handset do you use?

We can start there...

Is your signal analog or marginal digital? If it's the latter, perhaps an all-digital phone may work out better than a tri-mode. Since the signal doesn't get split through a combiner (before the receivers), there is less internal loss in theory.

If you choose to use an amplifier/repeater, make sure to get it cleared through Verizon Wireless and the FCC to rebroadcast the spectrum.
