sending pictures in text messages

When i take a picture then send it via text message it acts like its a video. why is that?

Explain yourself.
The message is showing a video icon or the file is behaving as a video when opened?

The picture has the arrow on it like a video then when you open it it acts like a video but obviously no sound since its a pic.

MMS they show any visual contact with the same icon, and they are displayed in the same way. You can save the image separately anyways.

What you're running into is they (very annoying) habit of many phones to send photos as a slideshow.

MMS has the capability to send mini multi-media presentations consisting of multiple photos and/or other kinds of media. That's neat in theory, but really way more complicated than most people need or want. Instead, most people send slideshows by accident and find receiving them to be annoying compared to a normal single-photo MMS.
