Bluetooth involves the wireless transmission of data for short distances. It can be used for a variety of things such as speakers or headphones or even transmission of data from a computer to a printer without wires.

Most phones today are bluetooth enabled so if you're in your car, you can use the headset or many cars have bluetooth enabled as well so you can talk on your phone and keep your hands on the wheel.
