WiMAX 2 will be capable of 170mbps down & 90mbps up!!!!!!
WoW, WoW, WoW! ! ! And WoW again!!! Clearwire is testing it this year, and said it will deploy the new standard in 2012. This is frinkin mindblowing!!!! Somebody on PS said WIMAX is capable of 1gbps, but I am yet to actually read that anywhere.

WiMAX for base units (non wireless) are or will be able to connect up to 1gbps, but mobile will be limited to 100mbps at a most (from what I've read). I'm firewalled at work so cant search for a good link, but you can always search for IEEE 802.16 wireless standards for more information about WiMAX, both base & mobile.
