To those who question the WiMAX Vs. LTE war. . .

WiMAX is CURRENTLY available in !!145!! countries.

And Release 2 will be capable of 120mbps on the downlink and 60mbps on the uplink, release 2 will be deployed by the end of 2011.

By the end of 2011 ATT will probably be just starting deploying LTE.

Anyway, here's a map of the 145 countries that CURRENTLY have WiMAX worldwide.

Actually, if I had the money, I'd be stock in Clear, it's only at about $8 dollars, I can only imagine where it'll be in like 18mo.'s-2yrs.

It won't be so sparse in the U.S. this time next year. I mostly only care about where I live anyway, and it's available in Las Vegas & Henderson, Nv.

This has no bearing on the LTE/WiMAX war. All one needs to switch from WiMAX to LTE is a simple software update. A WiMAX network can be turned into an LTE network almost overnight, or vice versa.

The problem will be its implementation in mobile devices, which will be slightly different. WiMAX does not require the use of SIM cards, while LTE is set up for SIM card use;

Also, the fact is that LTE is planned on the 700 MHz spectrum, while WiMAX is at 2.5 GHz in the US. Thus, the only real battles I see are o...
