What I llike about this is that it's real world users, a lot of them, not just some review from PC Magazine or something. I always prefer a testimony from real world end user consumer over some companies advertisement or something.

For those of you who are firewalled, this was on Boy Genius Reports website btw.

Average Download Speed

Sprint: 1361kbs
AT&T: 933kbps

Yeah me too, ATT is the only wireless carrier I've ever been with. I'm sure once more cities get lit up with 850 3G speeds will be considerably better. I really, really hope Las Vegas gets lit up before the end of this year. the first 3 cities seemed to happen quite rapidly, ATL, NYC, and SF. I'm sure before the end of September we'll see more headlines on Phone Scoop, it's just a question of which cities are next.

I heard one poster on Phone Scoop in Atlanta got 2.2mbps on an Iphone, so that's exciting!!!

My verizon aircard at best is 1mbps, so 2.2 is great for ATT

Drastically actually. There have been times that the speed is half, then other times it doubles. And then other times, that it's consistent.

I have personally seen 2.3 to 2.4 from verizon. That is from an evdo rev-a area, that is not the norm but I have seen it the average from big red is usually about 1.1 to 1.3.

Why not just go with the 4g services that are already in place in vegas? 10mbps peak speeds sure beats 2.2

Sprint HTC Hero I get an average download of 600-900 kbps and up of somewhere around 1/2 to 1/3 of that, in Augusta, GA. Could be my phone though, I would love to have some of that high end 3G speed Boy Genius reported 🙂

It's weird for me, my data speeds vary drasticly. But I get speeds of between
900kbps-1.2mbps often. I'm really hoping things get better by the end of the year.

I'm with ATT in Las Vegas.
