apparently im new to smartphones too!

Just had a lady with a 4s that had a defective sim, so i switched it out in the system with a new one, popped the sim tray out, and popped the new sim directly into the phone. without putting it in the tray first. Needless to say it was a nightmare trying to get it out. Ive never done that before, and man did i feel like a tool.
