ok so i handle calls for LIMEs ( a Caribbean provider ) customer from the BVI, Turks and Cayman. At times i get calls from At&t customers roaming in those islands and are not able to call back to the US on their cells, not check voicemails.
What is the method of dialing for your customers when calls back to the US?
What is the access number for customers to call At&t for assistance ( and dont say 811 or 611 ) ?
What is the access number to check voicemail?
...
I'm not AT&T, but I just checked my company phone book and we have pretty much every other provider's customer care phone number, but no AT&T. I'll see if I can find it for you when I'm on lunch though.
...
Bah, forgot to check, but I have a note on my phone now. I'll check on my break in about three hours, if not I'll definitely get it for you by tomorrow.

Says that once you leave the states you're SOL, or even if you're in the states, you're still gonna need to find assistance from someone other than At&t.
And I'm an At&t rep
...
they're gonna get assistance when we we're provided with anything to do so in the first place?
plus what the customers need is account related assistance...we cant view their accounts
...
Apparently they have to wait til they get back to the states to get any help. And if they went merrily off to another country before checking to see if they can get service there, I say it's their own fault anyway.
...
Yup. Thats pretty much correct. They may wanna try click to chat, but I don't know how helpful that is.

customers said they were advised by their carriers. But i know the customers will lie

then the irated customers are gonna give us a bad name when YOU never provided us with any info to assist your customers, nor they were advised of the challenges they may face when in another country...
they even want the rates ๐ณ ๐คจ
what kind of raoming partner are you? ๐ก
...
If the cust bothers to call us before they leave the country, we will inform them of roaming rates and advise them to get an international package to lower the roaming rates. However, most people don't call us before trotting off to Bumf*ckistan, they only call when they get back to beach about the ridiculously high bill they got from calling everyone and their dog from a foreign country.

Or, in the case cited, find themselves in a foreign country with no service as they did not call to see if International service was provisioned. Without that on PRIOR to the trip, they will not have international roaming.
On the plus side, they will not incur $2 bazillion in charges for international roaming and call to complain about the bill being so high!
