if you were thinking sex you are perverted!

So a customer fills out a pre approval form, asks us if we can shred it. We say yes. before we do he asks if he can black out his social before we put it through the shredder. ?

🙄 It's probably for the reason people will not tell you or write down their social security number on your application form. But they will give you their drivers license that has it on it (sometimes...).

not that i'm saying any of you in particular are dishonest like that, but you never know who's been hired at places you may shop. i am anal like that and balk at giving just anyone my ssn. i worked at a check cashing/payday loan place and this lady came in to let us know her check she had left as collatoral for her loan was cancelled because someone at a store she had written a check at had taken her check and made pretty good (but not totally believable) copies of it and written over $2000 in bad checks with it before the account was cancelled. makes you kind of scared to do ANYTHING anymore, if you can't even write a check somewhere.

If you are still writing checks somewhere, you deserve to get your money stolen. It is the least reliable way of payment for the vendor and is just old and antequated. Let me guess; you still use your Nokia candybar phone from 4 years ago.

well she WAS like 158 years old. i'm just sayin there are a lot of ways for just anyone to steal your identity. it's not that hard, so i kinda sympathize with anal people. that doesn't mean i don't want to kick them in the head tho.

I love how people get pissed when i run their check, void it out, and hand it back to them. They seriously get angry that i just ran their check as a debit, claiming i wasted thier check.

The complaints are either from old people who have been convinced by the media that the whole world is out to get them or from people with crappy credit. When credit comes back with a deposit, the customer will say it's because someone stole their identity. It's never the customers fault that they have horrible credit, right?

We had a customer last week that wanted to add a 2nd line to his account. And when we tried to rerun his credit we needed his SS# and he refused told us he had already gave it to us. He was worried that someone would hack into our computer and steal it. Customer ended up leaving without the 2nd line. And yes he was OLD!
