Shop Talk
I absolutely hate it when...
I usually respond with something to the fact of, " Well thank you for your concern, as a matter of fact I am extremely busy. I am sure your company will be more than happy to assist you."
Gotta love the blank stares I get from people about that one.
AMEN to that! Lazy bastards look at the directory for five seconds, and it's almost as if they assume someone is going to give them a personal escort to their destination.
One time a woman asked me where a competitor was. Because of our location, I knew she must have passed at least one location that sells that carrier. So, with a straight face, I asked her "now, why would I help you go do business with my competitor?" She walked away with her tail between her legs
Do these people have any idea what the salesperson is thinking right then? I understand we don't have everything for the cheapest price availible, but you don't need to tell me! If you want cheap crap, there are stores out there that will cater to you!
My other favorite is, " Why the Razr gotta cost so much?"
Maybe because there is a lot of technology packed into a very small space. I don't know, that might have something to do with it!

Because that's what people are willing to pay for it!
Appearantly people who ask this wern't around back a few years ago when Cingular was selling them for $599 a pop!!
He looked at her, dead serious, and simply said "Hmm...Verizon, never heard of it; I have no idea"
The look the customer gave him was priceless and I couldn't stop laughing after she left.

The story is funnier than how I'm pathetically wording it, though. âšī¸
And for the record, I have gotten sales out of people coming in for a charger, and once got a sale simply because I was willing to answer someones questions about their service, even though they were with another server. I looked their questions up, got the answers, and showed them where I could beat their current plan..
