I absolutely hate it when...

The first thing someone says to me when they walk up is," I know this phone isn't your company but they are so busy over there and you don't look busy."

I usually respond with something to the fact of, " Well thank you for your concern, as a matter of fact I am extremely busy. I am sure your company will be more than happy to assist you."

Gotta love the blank stares I get from people about that one.

😈

AMEN to that! Lazy bastards look at the directory for five seconds, and it's almost as if they assume someone is going to give them a personal escort to their destination.

One time a woman asked me where a competitor was. Because of our location, I knew she must have passed at least one location that sells that carrier. So, with a straight face, I asked her "now, why would I help you go do business with my competitor?" She walked away with her tail between her legs

I had two people in a row ask me that yesterday, Cingular & Verizon. I told them where they were, though. Who knows? Maybe they're going there to cancel and could come back to my store to establish service because I was friendly.

Unfortunately, that is a good point. I tell them if I know; if I don't, I suggest they call their carrier.

"That's more than I wanted to pay. Does have it for less?"

Do these people have any idea what the salesperson is thinking right then? I understand we don't have everything for the cheapest price availible, but you don't need to tell me! If you want cheap crap, there are stores out there that will cater to you!

Personally I am thinking about what part of the body I am going to be punching you at.

My other favorite is, " Why the Razr gotta cost so much?"

Maybe because there is a lot of technology packed into a very small space. I don't know, that might have something to do with it!

Because that's what people are willing to pay for it!

Appearantly people who ask this wern't around back a few years ago when Cingular was selling them for $599 a pop!!

Something like why a laptop is usually twice as expensive as a desktop. My company is selling the razr v3C for 49.99 with contract 😕 . You know that's going to come back and bite us on the butt once that promo is over.

The best response to this I've seen was with a co-worker of mine. The customer asked if he knew where the Verizon was in the mall.

He looked at her, dead serious, and simply said "Hmm...Verizon, never heard of it; I have no idea"

The look the customer gave him was priceless and I couldn't stop laughing after she left.

I hate it when people ask if you have a charger for their other service provider's phone. Had a woman come in to the store the other day and ask if we sold chargers for Motorola phones. I said yes, but then she produced a Cincinnati Bell Wireless phone that requires a pin charger (completely different from our Moto prong chargers). I tried to explain to her that we don't make Motorola phones that use that kind of charging port, so none of our Motorola chargers would work on her phone. She acted like I was crazy and proceeded to grab chargers off the wall and demand that I plug them in to her phone to see if they would work. I tried to calmly explain, "Ma'am, that's a Verizon Nokia charger. It is not going to be compatible with your Cin...

I can't remember the exact details and maybe someone could come along and paste the story but some crazy lady was mad about her burger being wrong somehow and called 911 about it.

The story is funnier than how I'm pathetically wording it, though. ☚ī¸

Call me silly. I love it when other people's customers come into my shop, it gives me a small opportunity to impress them with my customer care.

Ack, it doesn't show up real well does it? Hafta swap that out. It says "I tried callous indifference, but arrogant confrontation is much more fun."

And for the record, I have gotten sales out of people coming in for a charger, and once got a sale simply because I was willing to answer someones questions about their service, even though they were with another server. I looked their questions up, got the answers, and showed them where I could beat their current plan..

BOOM. New activation.

That is a beautiful post, because it shows both disregard and contempt for a customer as well as care and customer service. Pure poetry.
