I don't even remember what the issue at hand was. But this type of situation occurs regularly.

Usually, it's as something as simple as explaining that this particular phone here requires a data package because it is a smartphone, and AT&T requires data on all its smartphones.

That's when the customer pipes in that they know somebody whose brother's ex-wife's uncle has an iPhone with no data package. And then proceeds to use that anecdotal evidence to claim that I'm wrong and ignorant of AT&T's policies.

Mkay, yes, Mr. Ignorant Customer, even though I've been doing this for four years, I have no clue what is and isn't true in the wireless industry. Yes, you, the ill-informed consumer, are correct.
