How did I suddenly end up in a third world country? ๐คจ
...
no company can suspend either braks or lunches during a work day. They can change the time but no worker shall work more than 6 hours without a lunch break and for 4 hours there has to be a break.
If violated simpily let the labor office know and watch all hell break loose.
They love this sort of stuff
...
Interesting. Is that Federal regulation? ๐คจ Cause I looked this up and couldn't find a rule like that.
...
I will get the web address.
It is actually a state regulation
...
Federal law says nothing about breaks for workers. It's up to each state. If you're in Texas, you're SOL.
...
They can in Texas!!!! Its a "Right to work State" !!!! ๐ฟ
...
in that state you call the media..they took our lunches!
...
Right to work or not you still have to follow certain workplace rules.
Of course Texas is it's own world
๐ณ
...
Texas (and a few other states) has no laws regarding giving breaks or lunches to workers over 18, even if they work 16+ hour days. Most work places do anyway, but there is no legal right to them and they can cancel them at anytime and there's simply nothing you can do.
...
we've locked the doors......and shut off the plumbing.....now get on phones and take calls
๐คฃ
...
STOP LAUGHING! All laughing and fun have been suspended until further notice! ๐ฟ
...
That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Call your lawyer
...
that would be a huge waste of money and time. it would be in litigation forevar
...
The second they hear about you're lawyer and that you are willing to go to the press they would back down. No company likes bad press and then on top of it all you call the better business bureau on them too and see how they like it
...
quick way to get fired.
...
But why would you want to work there anyway. And besides, any company exposed for that would settle a lawsuit in a heartbeat
...
just ask west corporation
...
west corp has their own rules for EVERYTHING!!
...
in most states they hire you as an "independent contractor"
...
Because we get the same things too. They are also putting workers in different departments even though they are not trained in said department. ๐
...
How do they think that would be better for the company? If there are calls in queue then hire/train more people for said department instead of pulling people who have no idea what to do who then have to escalate or transfer everything. ๐ฟ
...
Here you can't work anymore than three hours straight without a break, and if you work 5hrs or more they have to give you a half hour lunch.
...
I work in the workforce management department of this call center. It's actually a pretty common practice to move Lunches and Breaks with little to no notice.
...
do you still get your breaks and lunch?
...
If you're in Texas? They don't have to give you breaks or a lunch- regardless of how long you work.
