ok i understand not to have the capability to copy financial info and not having pens or phones at our desk but why we cant we read a magazine or look at say wikipedia or something educational i frequently go 20-30 min between calls amd as long im putting the numbers up whats the problem why o why did i quit chippendales bad career move 😢

Yeah we can't do those things here. We cannot do puzzles while we are slower, read a book nothing like that. We have to make sure we are helping the customer. But, when it is slow we do not have anything to do. So it does kind of suck. 😢

The people that make those policies are the ones in their office listening to music and playing games on their computers.
Here it was a problem with a few select individuals ignoring customers or sitting in wrap for extended times to play games. I think it would be alot better for managers to have a back bone and make an example out of the bad apples instead of punishing everyone and looking like fools.
But then again, logic is against company policy.

It seems that the current trend in all industries is for upper management to treat front line management as babysitters more than letting them be actual managers though.

The last CC I worked at was like that. Now the CC I work in Everybody has Cell Phones at they're cube. We can Read, write, we can even eat at our station 😁

They have sighns everywhere, "Cell Phones Cameras are Prohibited in Building" yet every body has cells usb'd to the tower and watching tv. A local Chinese restuarant sets in in the breakroom and selld food to take back to the phones. We have a BBQ place here today.

Too bad so many of you know so little about the dificulties of establishing workrules in a modern workplace. Too many people try to get away with bending rules, and they become unenforceable. Yes, there are bad apples that spoil it for all, but if the rules are not uniformly applied, the work place is open to discrimination suits for selective enforcement when they try to terminate the bad ones. A good manager will warn you first - then please help them out and obey the rules. You know you want the boss to get rid of that jerk that always abuses everything - help him make it easier to enforce!

You know that everyone wants things their way. The rules like no cell phones are in place for a very good reason, but people tend to ignore it at every opportunity. They think it is unfair they they be expected to just work while on the clock. Checking texts and facebook can't be interrupted to them.
