WTF is with people today?
i have gotten five calls from people today asking if i can set them up with service over the phone and they'll mail me a check. NO I CAN'T!!! get off your lazy asses and drive the three miles down here.

Be careful... that's a sign someone is trolling to set up a fraudulent account. It's possible that a person or team of people is calling locations in your area to try to scam a new account or just some free phones. The second they ask about you send phones out to them .. you should be thinking .. "I need to see some I.D. before I do anything for these folks." You might want to notify your local mangers and peers when this happens so you can get the word out. 🙂

On the note of call-in scams, I have gotten quite a few suspicious calls like those that originate from TTY. The caller wants all the rate plan info, pricing info, then asks to have the account set up right then and wants to have the phones delivered. They then get upset when told they have to have proof of identification in order to prevent identity theft and fraud. If any of you have ever helped a customer on TTY, you know it can be a time consuming and tedious process. I suspect that the con artists are assuming that the sales reps will get frustrated and knuckle under.
