Math Lesson
So had a guy yesterday who came in to return his phone. Our Return policy is 30 days as long as the equip. has less than 500 mins of airtime usage on it. 1st of all, we were making an exception to accept the possible return in the first place because he had been out of town and unable to make it within his 30 days.....so we extended him to 35. Upon inspecting the phone, it is in primo condition, not a scratch, scrape or scuff. But, it had 3 mins shy of 10 hours on it. He began arguing with me that 10 hours was less than 500 mins.
C - What's 10 x 60?????
M - 600
C - NO, it's 480!
M - 10x60 = 600
C - 10x 60?? = 480!
M - 600!!!
C - uses calculator on said phone to multiply 10 x 60, looks at me says it's 600....and wal...

I had one guy fighting with me over a pro rated bill because he disconnected service within the 30 days and was upset that he got charged for the minutes used, even though I KNOW I went over that with him. I told him, 20 days on a 59.99 plan pro rates to about $2 a day, so that would be about $40 plus tax as long as he didn't go over his minutes allotted. He didn't. But he tried to tell me that 60 divided by 30 came out to 16 cents a day at 20 days. Try again buddy. 😛

Thats second grade math where I'm from. What the hell college did you go to? Was that math class before or after how to wipe your butt class? Was advanced silverware and napkin usage required for upper division?

It IS 2nd grade math. My point was this kid was atleast Sophomore in College, and was arguing 10x60 = 480.
