so i had a customer come in to my work just now and say that he was on a call and his phone all the sudden stopped working so he took the battery out and put the phone and battery and everything in the freezer for 2 hours... took it out... let it thaw and put it back together and it worked.... ha what gives someone the idea to do this? seriously... who has something happen to their phone and just think hey i'll put it in the freezer?

to do an insurance claim a while ago because apparently one night he and his friends were drunk and put his phone in a microwave while it was connected to another phone they had because they wanted to see what the inside of a microwave sounded like. 😳

WOW!!!! That is a new one for me. I recall something from tv about putting like AA batteries in the freezer to get a little more juice out of them. But, wow, a cell phone and its battery.

He is lucky no condensation destroyed his phone. That would be a good one for the Myth Busters or Bill Nye the Science Guy.

harddrive repair.

freezing it kind of 'locks' all you internal components and sometimes jumps things back into work.

this sometimes works, it sometimes doesn't.

Dude trust me, these things are completley dead... Any measures taken to save them are completley justified.

Btw.... it worked on one of them.... for 15 minutes.

it's really only supposed to work for 5-30min, at most. Any longer is amazing.

just long enough to backup data off them.
