That's probably because you have lousy credit. The $1000 deposit (2 lines, $2000) is Verizon's way of telling you to zark off. Or get prepaid.

dear good go to tmobile if you know what is good for you they only have a 500 deposit cap. and if you cedit score is above a 500 you may be approved for smart access. witch isnt bad it just means you can get a plan up to 50 dollars a month and its only approving you for one line for one year after of good account activity. and the great thing about tmobile is that the plans for 45.99 is one thousand minits with unlimited nights and weekends so check into it if that would work for you man and even if it wont we have a number of deposits but remember this you must go into a retail store to pay a deposit and to place and order on line or over the phone 1-800 866 2453 or 1800 tmobile you need a credit or debit card and must be over the age of ...

I wish more companies would charge it. You can always go to Sprint...they will give you a spending limit and turn off the phone as soon as you reach it. So considering you have never handled credit wisely in your past, be sure to always stay $100.00 ahead to avoid service interruption.

The only way you would need to put down $2000 is if you were trying to activate 5 phones with a $400 deposit per line ($400) is the highest deposit that Verizon asks for) Medium risk customers are only required to put down $125 per line.

I sell Verizon in Ohio, and have had this happen before, I thought the poor guy was going to have a STROKE!

I work for AWS and one time I had to tell a customer they had $4,000 deposit. (800 deposit per line... 5 lines) It's really a sad thing, but who in their right mind would put that much money down for a cell phone deposit. It's hard to get people to put down a $200 deposit.

are you sure? over here I hear customers telling me Verizon required a 1000 deposit. Whats bad is me having to tell them Alltel requires the same thing from them. I've had a customer pay 2 500 dollar depsoits before. I know a friend of mines who got a customer to pay 4 500 dollar deposits, hey around here nextel sells itself. I never had to push nextel on anyone, and try to sell them anything else and they would go crazy. Nextel is just the Shiznitz over here while I perfer to sell Alltel as it offers better coverage.
