Replying to: Poor reception: the phone or the provider? by afen
If you're two weeks into it, then you're at the end of the trial period. I think Verizon's standard window is 15 days. So if you think you want to cancel, you need to do it right away, if it's not too late.
With that said, if you stay with Verizon, all they can do it exchange your phone, or exchange it for another model. That's if it is the phone. Do you know anyone else with Verizon in your area? Do they have similar problems?
How does your phone work on the other side of town?
The only way to find the problem is ruling things out using the above methods. No one here can tell you it's definitely the network, without knowing your exact street address and intimate technical details of Verizon's network in that area.
And no one here can say for sure it's the phone - sometimes there are duds or some phones work better with certain tower equipment in different areas.
PS: In the future, please post questions like this in the Verizon forum. This forum is for discussion of site issues only.
