The News Groups that appeared here before still exist, just not here. This site only provided access to those groups - they were not owned or controlled by this site in any way. They are part of USENET, a global system that exists separate from the web, and in fact existed before the web.
The USENET groups are still available using news reader software. Outlook Express provides this function. On the web, Google Groups is another way to access them.
