Rich?

Recently there has been a lot of arguments & discussions on threads posted to one person. I would like an answer on is this acceptable or not?

Thanks!

It's discouraged, and we may remove such threads.

We offer a way to private-message someone. That's the preferred way to contact just one or two people.

Personal messages clutter up the forums with threads that aren't relevant to most people. The point of a forum is for open discussion. Everyone should feel welcome to chime in if they have something to contribute. Personal threads go against that principle.

It's relevant and the context doesn't discourage others from chiming in.

But I do wish people would choose more helpful subject lines. "Rich" is not a useful subject line.

I'm sorry, but I just couldn't avoid the joke. 😛

There was this huge argument going on in the lounge and I just wanted to type out a quick question. I guess in hindsight I should have chosen a better topic. I apologize.
