It took a while for me to get used to it, but now I love it. I have a hard time with other sites with linear forums now.

I still have troubles with it, and i'm much more inclined to ignore teh huge threads because i don't know where to start nor do i want to dig through the mess to find the good stuff

There are some definite perks to being able to directly respond to someone's post without having to sift through the entire conversation.
You could use the "Top Message, most recent replies" option for the PS forums, but then it hides all of the other responses and just looks plain weird.
