Suggestion: Forum FAQ
epikMay 26, 2010, 10:20 AM
As a frequent contributor to the Verizon forum over the last many years, it seems to me that it would be beneficial to have a FAQ within a forum to answer questions that get asked all the time. While it's nice to have people posting in the forum, some of the more basic inquiries usually end up with negative responses telling people to search more effectively, giving no regard to the fact that in any given day we might add hundreds of posts to the forum. If we had something to direct people toward we could control the flow of the forum better and enjoy conversation, as opposed to someone jumping down a visitor's throat simply because they asked a rather basic question.

If possible, I'd suggest "Sticky notes"- being able to put hot items and FAQs on top of the stack until it drops in interest.

"Stickied" threads should be collpasable, so that a long thread that gets stickied does not end up taking over half the front page of any given forum. That, or make it impossible to reply to something that is stickied, for the same reason.

it would be nice if all threads were collpasable
