will it be better for PS to have a "delete" feature?

this will be helpful if you posted something but realize after a few minutes that it's not worth posting
i know some good and bad side to that

(-) abuse people posting something offensive and deleting it outright once the target gets the message
(-) less responsibility on posts since you know you can delete what you started
(+) people who posted out of anger can retract their statement
(+) correct errors or delete posts when you've changed your mind after 5min.
(+) lessen bans

Another downside is if you delete a post, every post responding to it would probably be deleted too, so if there's a tangent people went off on and they were happily discussing it and you just deleted the first post, people might not like that.

I think an edit button, to fix typos or whatever, would probably be better.
