Adding a word to spell check

Hmm... I guess I never provided a full reply in the other thread, so here goes:
Adding words to the spell checker is on the to-do list, but to be honest, it's way down there in terms of priority.
Our spell checker does have a custom word option, but it would require quite a bit of new code on my part to actually implement it here on the site, for several reasons.
I don't see it as a terrible inconvenience as it is now. If it doesn't recognize a word, it's usually obvious why it's not in the spell checker's dictionary. Proper names like "Obama" and "Verizon" being good examples. It's not hard to see why it was flagged and skip over it.
Plus, many browsers have a built-in spell checker now.
