We do plan to revamp the mobile version of the site soon, but it is unlikely it will include forums.

There are several reasons:

  1. It would take a lot of work.
  2. There's not enough demand to justify that amount of work. (I think you're the third person to ask in the six years we've been around.)
  3. More and more phones can view full web sites in their "desktop" layout, and do it well.
  4. Planned changes to the HTML code of our site will make the normal full version of the site (including forums) work much better even on phones that don't display full desktop-style layouts.

What we will offer soon is the option of viewing the WAP site or the full site from your phone. Right now it auto-detects and forces ...

I don't know who your carrier is, but you can view the forums on Sprint phones, with an Opera Mini browser.

Here's the URLs you can use to download the two builts of Opera Mini to your wireless handset:
Opera Mini 3.1
http://operamini.com »

Opera Mini Beta 4
http://operamini.com/beta »

I've been using the Opera Mini Beta 4 now since it was launched and have not found any errata with the software so far. If you're using Sprint, please make sure you have a Vision($15) or Power Vision($15-$30) data pack on your account. Otherwise the casual usage rate of $0.03/kb will stomp your butt.

😲 Sorry about the punctuation Yean. Thank you for the correction. Both the URLs from my original thread work on my SPrint CDMA handset. I take it the two URLs you provided are generic WAP ones.

Opera Mini Beta 4 hopefully will leave the Beta stage soon. Like I said, I've been using the Beta since the day Opera released it and haven't had any issues with it so far.

Make sure then you leave some feedback at Opera regarding the caching issue you've discovered so they can work out that sort of bug and others people may have already found and reported.
