Rogers buys Fido

What do you make of that? I'm quite happy about it. I forced my phone to use Rogers network instead of Fido and it works a lot better. Rx and Tx audio is greatly improved

Something to chew on.

The Professor was out cold!! The students were stunned and shocked. They

EV-DO in Canada

Canada isn't that far behind in the cell phone race anymore. Telus Mobility is launching EV-DO in November here. No exact date but they are saying middle of november. Be on the look out for new phones.

Question about Rogers prepaid abound.

I really want the Nokia 6620 and am willing to pay full price to have it on prepaid service, but the website doesn't list it as a "prepaid phone". Can I just go to the store and buy it then activate it on prepaid?

Also, I see that you can expand the memory up to 1GB. So does that mean I can use it as an mp3 player too? And if so, does anyone have experience with this? Is the sound quality good? Do you need a special headset to use it?

If anyone can answer any of this, Thanks a bunch.

cheap options

I am a fido user in Vancouver and I need to replace my siemens a56 with something else. It seems like companies aren't giving out free phones any more, and are requiring that you sign a contract just to get a discount. How can I get a cheap phone without signing a contract? I've heard that you can get a model sold by rogers or fido and put your sim card in, but I'm scared to get one on e-bay and then not have it work. Pawn shops seem even sketchier. Any ideas?
Also, does anyone know of good models sold by fido or rogers? (I thought about getting a $15 LG 1300i, and signing a contract, but it got bad reviews on this site)

Any Help??? PLEASE!!

Hi just found this forum. Hope someone can help.

Anyways heres my story.

I'm located in Canada, my employer has Telus cell phones with Mike Direct Connect which is great!! The phone is a i205 which I use at work.... I don't see or pay the bill and I don't even know who does..

A while back I was on Ebay and got a real good deal on a Motorola i95cl.. it's in like new condition and came with a SIM card, but when I insert my SIM card it tells me "Enter Special Code Now"... 😕 😢 I would love to use this i95 for personal use... it's a much nicer phone then the i205.

Any idea's or help??? Please..... I really don't want to ask people at the shop about this code....

Hope this post is OK in this section.

Thanks
Dan

Time Line for LNP anounced!!!

Are we all excited? We finaly have a date for LNP in canada...But it's not as soon as you thought it was.

WNP, which will enable clients to transfer phone numbers between wireless service providers and also between landline and wireless service, will begin a limited-area pilot trial in mid-2007, followed by a national launch in September 2007.

Rogers browser settings for Motorola v635?

I bought an unlocked Motorola v635 that was from Europe. I've had it for over 1 month and can't use the internet on it because it won't connect. Rogers has been NO help at all: "Try turning your phone off and then back on". Thanks guys, cuz I never thought of that-_-'

I was hoping someone here would have the Rogers browser settings that they could post so I can set up my browser.

Thanks!
