Verizon Push to talk

Has any one heard when Verizon will be coming out with a new push to talk phone. I heard Verizon was tentative with a Samsung model. And possibly a Motorola, just curios on some makes and models as I am in the market for a new phone and have been patiently waiting on a new color push to talk phone from Verizon since early August.

Thanks,

Chris

IF YOU GUYS ARE SO SMART!

THIS MESSAGE IS IN REGARDS TO THE T-MOBILE CLAIMS POSTED EARLIER. IF ALL THOSE GSM CARRIERS CAN PROVIDE EXTENDED COVERAGE THEN WHY DON'T THEY ADVERTISE THESE HUGE NETWORKS. TV ADS THAT SAY THIS. I HAVE TO HEAR IT FROM THESE CARRIERS REPS. WHY IS IT NOT IN WRITING? IM SURE THEY THROW THAT STUFF IN THE FINE PRINT ON COVERAGE MAPS FLYERS, SO WHY NOT TELL THE WORLD. HUGH PRINT! BY THE WAY MY REFERENCE TO SHARING TOWERS THAT WAS IN AN EARLIER MESSAGE WAS ME REPEATING THE SAME EXACT STATEMENTS PASSED FROM AT&T/ T-MOBILE/ & CINGULAR REPS. THEY ALL SAID "SHARE" IN RESPONES TO YOUR ATTACKS. HIRE BETTER REPRESENTATION!

Motorola iDEN

I have not seen many posts on Nextel's iDEN technology. Thought it would be a good discussion. I have a good grasp of this network used by Nextel. If there are any questions or comments about Nextel, or iDEN, post them here. Thanks

What is the difference?

I recently started working PT at Radio Shack. We offer both Sprint and Verizon in our region. I hear things from time-to-time that I believe to be "repeated" without verification. For example...I am told that GSM is "lousy", or "there are all kinds of problems with GSM."

Is this due to the fact that neither Sprint nor Verizon offer GSM, or is it true that there are "all kinds of problems" with GSM?

Are there ANY Cell providers in the US that offer true world-wide service...well world-wide whereever there IS service?

Thanks,
Dennis

Siemens S46 or Sony Ericcson T62u

Can anyone suggest whether the Siemens or the Sony is good to be used in the SF Bay Area. I am looking at buying any of the above, so that it will work on both TDMA and GSM networks.
Anyone who had a good or a bad experience, please let me know.

Thanks

Using Bluetooth headset with clamshell phones closed

I am planning to get a Bluetooth enabled clamshell style phone -- most likely from Motorola. If I have the phone turned on and closed, can I use the Bluetooth head set to make voice command calls without opening the cell phone? Like wise, can the Bluetooth head set pick up an incoming call with its one touch button without opening the phone? Not sure anyone have experience on this. Thanks.

X70 - V600 - Z600

Does anyone have current information as to when the Panasonic X70 will be available in the US and through which carrier? I'm anxiously awaiting a flip phone with camera and bluetooth and like everything I see about this phone. The Motorola V600 and SE Z600 are also very tempting, but I think the price tag will be a bit higher.

If anyone has fairly accurate information about any of these phones please post or send it to me.

Thank you

Before Bluetooth

Before Bluetooth, there was a way to gain internet access by connecting your laptop to your cell phone, then dialing up. What is this called, and is it still being developed in new phones?

Verizon CTO Speaks Out

Really fascinating comments from the Verizon Wireless CTO:

http://www.wirelessweek.com/index.asp?layout=documen ... »

MMS interoperability is a no-brainer if you ask me, but it's great to hear Verizon talking about it. I know from past conversations with Sprint officials that they have the same outlook, and ditto for T-Mobile and the other GSM carriers. Hopefully it won't be long now... Cool

But the really fascinating comment was about time-to-market for new phones. Here's the Verizon top tech exec admitting that it takes way too long to get new CDMA phones to market, and pointing the finger at their own carrier customization demands. Shocked

Analysts and manufacturers ha...
