where have all the windows standard smartphones gone?

Hi, I'm totally blind. This means that I access my smartphone (a samsung bj 1) with a screenreading program called mobile speak smartphone. I have at&t, and am eligible for an upgrade. The problem: what to upgrade to. It seems like all of at&t's new phones have touch screens. That wouldn't be an issue, except that in order to use a phone with a touch screen, I would have to pay another three hundred dollars to purchase a different version of the mobile speak software. Since I don't have that kind of money to spare, I was wondering whether at&t is planning to come out with any new windows standard smartphones, or whether there are newer, unlocked phones that people would recommend. I need something with a qwerty keyboard, preferably a slid...

Mobile Banking Capabilites for your smartphone

Hi-
I am a Management Info Sys major at a Philadelphia university & am in my final semester of my Senior year. My capstone project has to do with creating a mobile banking application for smartphones... and one member of our team is actually being trained by his job to program applications for iPhones.

My question to all of you is- what would you like from a mobile banking application? For example- you'd obviously want to be able to check your balance... but what else? Any suggestions- no matter how tame or how outlandish are welcomed.. this is part of the "market research" portion of the project. Thanks in advance!!! :help:

Blackberry Issues

I have gotten some many calls about customers have their internet icons disappearing from the apps screen. I end up sending them to Blackberry Tech but I was hoping that someone might be able to tell me how I can reinstate the icon without have to send them to BKB Tech.
Also I have herd that there is a way to remove an icon line BKB text from the apps screen and place it back. How is that done also. If anyone can provide me with that information, I would be very greatful.

AT&T, Blackberry with WiFi and HAC of M4T4?

Does anyone know if there is any chance that AT&T might bring in a Blackberry with WiFi ability that also is the higher rating for use with hearing aids (M4,T4)? An example is that the Bold might have that rating in other places but does not have any HAC through AT&T (I do not even know for sure that it does in other places but have seen some stuff in my research that suggest it might.) Any info would be welcomed!

G1 Multitouch zoom zoom support (just like the iPhone)

Up to this point, there isn't any phone that actually features multi-touch, drag and spread, pinch and pull type of functions because....well because the people at Apple patented that technology so no one will be allowed to use it. So here's the thing, since the Google android is unique for its open-source-fulness, it probably wouldn't be long before someone overrides the single touch system....and that's precisely what Luke Hutchson did.

Ladies and gents, multi-touch zooming is now made possible on a G1. Word of caution though, it will require the user to re-flash their phone resulting in a loss of warranty...but hey, it's still a real good start.

Motorola A1600 GSM

The Moto A1600 GSM - brings a new feel to the conventional flip phone. Sleek, innovative combining elements of touch screen design but in a compact flip phone size. Maybe there might be a revival of flip phone demand.

check out the pictures in the link:

It is however only available on the Chinese GSM network. But for those interested in foreign phones, here are the specs:

3.2 megapixels camera
YamaRoad GPS App.
Linux OS
GPRS, EDGE, GSM 850/900/1800/1900

Which GSM PDA phone value for money?

I have been with a 6230 on ATT.

I might buy a PDA/smartphone including used one.

What model should I get? For eg. I heard N95's GPS is not very functional.

ANy other ones?

I also use the "Compare" tool for average score on phone scoop - N95 has better score than 6230 despite of poor GPS.

4-yr w/ ATT on Nokia 6230 - what's next?

Hi

I joined ATT (CIngular) in Feb 2005 and got a 6230.

Now ATT wants 2-yr contract!

What is the best strategy for me? Is there a better rate/company than ATT? I also get rollover.

What phone should I go for?

I am interested in a PDA.

Is Sprint any good?

Thanks
