Android VS iOS, which is better??

I am not sure if I am putting this in the correct forum, however I pose the question. To be totally honest I am a student majoring in computer science, and I happen to work for an indirect Verizon agent. Well for one of my classes I have to write a persuasive speech, hence the question. I didn't want to ask just anyone, but people who have actual knowledge on the topic. So any input one way or another would be great! And please, tell me why? Even if it is because it comes in a cool color is a valid reason. Thank you!

Dial Tone on Cell Phone

Has anybody experienced a dial tone on their cell. I had a call come in, saw the contacts name, answered , but it was a dial tone. The displayed showed the call was active with the contact's name also. I stayed on for a few seconds saying hello, hello, and then all of a sudden my friend could be heard. I dont understand this and it has happened a couple times.

rice bag method for wet phone works?

Hi guys,
I read on this blog that putting your wet phone in rice bag could save it from getting dead. Just want to know if any one has actually experienced it and does it work or not. If this doesn't work, then is there any other method to save a wet phone? Asking because I'm someone who keep dropping my phone in water.

Have you ever met the situation that your cell phone battery can not be charged? What will you do at this time? Are you go to maintenance shops for help? Twisted Evil Actually, we can find the reason by ourselves. Below is the steps to get the reason.

1. Link your cell phone with the charger and plug the charger in. Steps to Reset a Lithium Ion Cell Phone Battery

Lithium ion batteries are the power source of choice for cellphones. Lithium ion batteries are manufactured with a circuit that functions as a kind of fuel gauge. The circuit uses the battery voltage to estimate the "state-of-charge", that is, the amount of usable power remaining. Over time the circuit will become inaccurate and must be reset. Otherwise the cell phone may shut off unexpectedly even though readouts indicate the battery still has power remaining. Cool

1. Use the lithium ion battery installed in the cell phone until the battery power is completely consumed. This will not harm the lithium ion battery because it comes with an internal "safety board". Smile

2. Take the battery out of the cell phone and put it on a charger which...

Is Your Cell Phone Battery Dead?

Now the batteries of most cell phones are rechargeable lithium ion batteries. This type of battery can recharge 300 to 500 charge cycles to its full capacity before it will not charge fully. If your cell phone needs charging more often or the charge lasts for several hours less than when the battery was new, you may need to replace it with a new one. Testing the battery to obtain its capacity will tell you if you need a new cell phone battery. Rolling Eyes

1. Plug the cell phone into its charger and plug the other end in to an electrical outlet. Allow the cell phone battery to be charged to full capacity. Very Happy

2. Press and hold the power button on the cell phone to turn it off. Let the phone power down and remove the back cover to access the...

Need a recommendation

So, my father (almost 70) wants a new phone. Here are the limitations:

We don't want to have to get a data plan. So I'm looking to buy something used/unlocked. (we have AT&T.)

He wants something with a big enough screen to see pics of his granddaughter (and daughter).

It needs to have a keyboard big enough to see the keys and not fat-finger too much.

It needs good reception and reliability.

It would be nice if it's durable so it won't die if he bumps it or drops it in his workshop.

Battery time isn't a big deal as he only uses it when he's out and always charges it when he gets home.

Format isn't a big deal... flip, bar, etc. Doesn't matter.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

I remember the time when I wished to have any smartphone

Even though I tried a few smart-phones from the old eras (Nokia N73 and blackberry pearl 8100) I wasn't really satisfied with their offerings (since I was not an enterpriser).
So I decided to go back to feature phone territory where I could find simple media focused devices (that didn't require an expensive data plan), they were simple and fun to use (I had a Sony Ericsson C905 for a few years)
I changed phones a few times during the subsequent years, all of them feature phones.
My first encounter with an smartphone after that was kind of fortuitous, I broke my phone and I didn't have the money to buy a new phone that I'd like. I put my simcard in an old nokia 1100 for a few days until a friend of mine sold me an old Iphone (1st generatio...
