Pairing cross network phones (ie Verizon to ATT)

I was able to pair my voyager to my friends iPhone, but it took forever... and about 15 or so searches for My phone to even spot the iPhone, and i couldn't even get the iPhone to find my phone. i was finally able to get them paired using a 6 digit pin code of all 0's. options to send were that of a name card, image or calender event. none of which could succesfully be sent. does anyone know if the iPhone's BT is extremely limited? or if the broadcast range is shortened? literally had to hit search and show on both phones simultaneously to even get the iPhone to show up on my phones search. could it be because the iPhone searches constantly while being visible? anyone know? also, i tried pairing my Jabra 3030 to the iPhone and i couldn't even...

Paring

Hi,

I'm trying to pair two bluetooth phones together and I've tried everything for the pin on one of the phones and nothing works. The first phone takes the last four of the phone number the second won't take zeros, 1234, or the last four of the phone number. Any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks

Bluetooth Connectivity

I got a Palm PDA for Christmas which is a tremendous help in my work. One of the features is Bluetooth connectivity, which allows me to dial from my contacts in the PDA directly through the (compatible)phone via Bluetooth. As my cell phone is a Samsung and not supported by Palm for Bluetooth connection, I purchased a Moto V197 off Ebay and switched the SIM cards. Now the phone works great with the PDA, but I discovered I can only connect to 1 Bluetooth device at a time. I'd like to be able to connect to my PDA and the earpiece at the same time. What phones (or Bluetooth version) will work this way - if any?
Thanks.

700 MHz spectrum auction

how do you guys feel about companies like google and apple trying to aqquire spectrum?
i personally think its great. apple already have a device capable of utilizing it, and im sure the rest of their devices can easily be added to the list.
that lead me to think about one day having internet wirelessly at home and that being a standard for media devices. i dont know. just a thought.

HTC 8525 & WiFi. Do I need a data account

So I bought a HTC 8525 & it is great. But one of the reasons I bought it was the WiFi connection. Well I have tried at home & at "WiFi hot spots" around town & sometimes it says I'm connected but then I try to access the internet & get nowhere. Is it something I'm doing or does AT&T have a lock on me requiring a data plan & some money. If this is the case does anyone know if there is anything I can do to "unlock" the WiFi feature. Ant time anyone puts in to this is greatly appreciated!

Who is Faster, Verizon or Cingular/AT&T?

I am currently on Verizon's network for voice and data. Thinking of switching to Cingular AT&T however as we keep having call issues with Verizon that Verizon has not been any help on - that aside Cingular/AT&T has been known for dropped call issues in our area, Oregon, but they seem to be getting better from what I hear. My only concern would be data speed as we use a lot of data both on the smartphone, tethered to a laptop and using laptop cards. Verizon now is useable, fast enough to do most of what we need to do, but not blazing fast, usually over 100K, sometimes around 500K.

Is Cingular's/AT&T's network about the same? Faster? Slower?

Need help bluetoothing with my Samsung M510

Hi, first time poster, though I frequent the site.

Anyway, I just got a Samsung M510, and my carrier is Sprint. I have some photos on my MicroSD card that I snapped with the phone that I would like to bluetooth to my computer, but I am having difficulties accomplishing this. I have a USB Bluetooth adapter for my PC, and both devices can sync together, but when I try to send files to or from the PC, it doesn't work. When I try to send from my phone, it says "connection failed" and when I tried to send to my phone, it says "vcards are received" but the file doesn't actually transfer. I have checked the Bluetooth settings and both devices are set to discover and see each other, and I also have specified on the phone to receive files to the m...

Treo 700wx Dial Up Help Please

I have a Treo 700wx on verizon.
I was told you can use the phone to dial up to a ISP, but when I set it up, it does not work. I called verizon and they told me that the phone can dial up to ISP's but you need a 3dr party program to enable this. He would not tell me the name of the program, but he did say there is a couple of them. I'm not looking to hook my computer to the phone, I just want to be able to get my mail and sport updates... Or is there a way to get WAP to work on this phone????
Can anyone help???
thanks

Questions???

Hi There,

After having my Motorola V360 for almost 2 years, I'm getting ready to upgrade my phone. The phones that I like and have pretty much everything I want out of a phone are the T-Mobile Dash and the Blackberry Curve.

Both are with very high ratings. I actually got to try out a Dash for a day and I really liked it but quickly noticed a justified complaint when I was having problems with the side keys. Which aren't keys at all, they're sensors, so they adjust anytime it "feels" something move across it.

But, I had a question about the WI-FI deal. The Dash had Wi-Fi, and I was lucky enough to be in a church that has wi-fi capabilities. However, I need to know a couple of things:

1) What exactly is the benefit of having a...

Real-world data speeds in Orange County, CA?

Hello!

I have had a VZW laptop data card for three years. Due to low speeds (500/140), I am considering going to Sprint.

Does anyone have real-world speeds for Orange County, CA, that I can use to compare to my results?

Even with Rev. A, VZW is slow. In a Sprint store in Westminster, CA, they had a Mac that showed 2200/614, while my (30-day trial) of the new VZW Rev A U727 card was about 600/250...WAY below Sprint.

Their test computer was a Mac, and mine is XP Pro, but I don't see how that could make that much of a difference.

Video calling & GPS help

Does any one know what type of phone and service is needed to video conference with a PC? Can I Video conference with a video capable phone through a wifi connection using VOIP (skype)? Is Video calling easy to set up?
Do all GPS enable phones have maps pre-loaded? If not where do you get them and how do you load them? Will your GPS enabled phone show your position at all times assuming it's on and you have the proper maps loaded on the phone?

Data for Laptop

I want to be able to connect to the Internet from my laptop when traveling or on vacation. I don't want to pay a new monthly fee for 24/7 data plan, I will only use this occasionally.

Verizon will let me add / drop there data plan whenever I want and use my cell phone as a modem.

AT&T announced something with there GO Phone at the beginning of the summer, but I can find zero details and there retail sales people haven't been able to explain / find this new feature.

Are there other options? I wouldn't mind paying for a PC Card or USB Card and paying some sort of pre-pay.

Bluetooth /2007 Camry Problem

I have a Samsung A-920 cell phone and a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid with built in hands free bluetooth technology. My carrier is Sprint and I live in the San Francisco Bay area. I have a problem when I go through an area code change, like crossing the Bay Bridge or the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge, or when another car with bluetooth is near me. The Toyota gives off a ring signal, shows on the display Private Caller, then stops. One ring only. This can happen multiple times during a drive and it is quite jarring and disruptive. Sprint and Samsung deny there's a problem. Toyota says it is the phone and that their car won't do anything unless the phone is sending a signal to it.

Does anyone know what the problem is? How do I stop this v...
