Motorola RAZR2 V9m as bluetooth modem on a mac

I had a support contract on my old phone and it died. Sprint gave me a Motorola RAZR2 V9m. It has bluetooth and I have paired it with my MacBook Pro for data sync. But it won't connect as a modem. The Mac appears to "see" it as a modem, but when I try to connect I get an error message that says there was a problem with the modem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Verizon Broadband card w/MacBook vs tethering with Blackberry Curve?

Right now I with Verizon for phone and T-Mobile for my Blackberry Pearl for data. I am planning to get a BB Curve and combine services with Verizon. I also want to have access to my email from anywhere and want to know the difference in service (speed, connectivity with Mac)between a broadband card and tethering with the Blackberry Curve. Right now I pay for a high speed connection in a place that I'm rarely at and would love to get rid of that cost if service won't suffer too much. I'm slightly technically challenged and would appreciate any input.
Thanks

Free WiFi Connection

I downloaded www.bzeek.com to my laptop and "magic", the laptop turened to be also free wifi router. My friends did the same, so when we meet at my home, office or theirs, all of us surf through wifi free. Just to say that my home router is secured. Nevertheless, the Bzeek network is Open. Give it a try and I'll be happy to share your experience.

Nokia MediaNet issue on 2 phones, whats up????????

Hey all, I am using att and have use it for with a nokia n76 and an n95 and both phones will give me the error "web connection timed out" while im using the web browser. For example, google and type a search, then click the search button to get the error, I click it over and over about 3 or 4 times with the same error each time, then it will work. Anybody know why both phones have done that? I have had both phones automatically setup the medianet settings. Any clues????

Teashark rules! Teashark rules! As in 2.9mbps! ! !

Ah heck, I decided to give the mobile web browser Teashark a try, to sed what's special about it, i was quick to download, so then I went to Cnet to do a dandwidth test, and bing-bang-boom, it came back with a 2.8mbps result, I yelled out OMG! ! ! So far the highest result I've gotten has been a little shy of 3mbps! ! ! Teashark most certainly does render web pages faster than Opera Mini! And the tabbed web browsing is cool also. It sure is cool to get REAL BROADBAND speeds.

By the way these speeds were achieved on AT&T's network using an unlocked/unbranded Nokia N95-3.

So I'm curious, what speeds are you Sprint and Verizon users getting using the Teashark mobile browser?

charged for Wifi or only cell tower use.

I'm guessing most who have a PDA/smartphone keep their data plan. But if you were to go cheaper and mostly use the phone in a wifi signal, will they keep track of that as if you're using the towers?

The reason is, the signal is so poor in my house, I almost cannot use my phone, but I have a boosted router that works all around the house and on my property. Question is: If I get a smart phone with wifi capabability or add a wifi card, can I just sign up for a cheaper plan and use the wifi for all my data needs? When on the road, I make sure the programs are turned off.

Further, the reason why I'm thinking this is that the future symbian/LiMo/Android OS for phones will be out and PDA/Smartphones will be the easier ones to convert tha...

Sony Ericsson MD300?

Would anyone have any idea as to whether the new Sony Ericsson MD300 USB Modem will work with Tmobile's up and coming 3G-HSDPA network? It does not have 1.7 Ghz functionality, but is listed as having access to the 2.1 Ghz band (which might only function on the European version of that frequency).

Details for the MD300 can be found here:

Why wifi on a phone?

Ok, I started to post this about 20 minutes ago, had a lot of good thoughts, ideas etc and posed the question "why is there a high demand and fulfillment level of wifi on a smartphone?"

...then one fatal typo key pressed (the "back" button) and POOF! everything I typed was gone...I'll make sure to complain to IBM/Lenovo about that nifty little pain in the ass "back and forward" buttom placement near the arrow keys on their T series notebooks...GRRR!!!!

So in laziness of not wanting to retype/rethink that post, here's a quick post just asking a simple question for survey purposes:

why is having wifi on a smartphone (or other phone?) important to you?

I'm not asking about wireless data plans on these phones, I'm asking about "wifi...

BB 7100i

Just got a good deal on the blackberry 7100i on ebay and just added the data plan to it. Anybody out there have any tips on it? Have never anything on a blackberry before and just want a few tips. My email address is spidermanroach@yahoo.com.

I have also been talking with the people at my Nextel branch and they are telling people not to buy the 7100i and wait for a few weeks for the new blackberry that will have direct connect and all that. They are saying it is suppose to be pretty sweet!

Thanks,
Steve
