Spell Checker

Not sure if this has been brought up before. I am a new user and if it has then I guess a thousand apologies is due 😁

Considering that this is a cell phone related site - perhaps we need to add words like Nokia, Motorola, etc to the dictionary that does the spell check!

Thoughts?

This has most likely been posted before...

but since i'm sorta new to the site, it would be nice if there was a Canadian version or a Canada section on here.
or at least maybe in the search when you're looking for phones.

Phones without specific features

Right now, the phone listing omit mention of features which a particular phone may lack.

I would find it more useful to see that a listing says "No" for changeable faceplate or integrated PDA than to scan the list a few times, making sure that there is no entry for covers or faceplates or PDA.

Admittedly, some features are rare enough so they might be listed in a "special features" category, rather than stating that most phones do not have a flashlight, a calorie counter, or a sub-etha sensomatic.

Thanks.

Sprint Toshiba Phones

Sprint has a new Toshiba VM 4050 listed on their website. It's not their first Toshiba phone. Can you add Toshiba as a Vendor under the phones and give consumers information on the two phones on Sprint's website?

New RSS Feeds

Okay, I just finished new RSS feeds. I've switched to RSS 2.0, improved the news feed, and added a feed for Latest Phones. The new feeds are at:

https://www.phonescoop.com/rss/news.php »

and:

https://www.phonescoop.com/rss/phones.php »

The news feed now includes new feature articles when they're posted, so people who rely on RSS for new content won't miss big stuff like the recent CES article.

Combined with the new Latest Phones feed, RSS can now serve as a complete replacement for checking the front page.

If you use RSS, please help me test them. If everything looks okay after a couple weeks, I'll post the links somewhere prominent and retire the old feed.

RSS/RDF Feed for news?

Hey, guys. I'd love to include an RSS feed of your headlines on my site, but didn't find one on the site. If you have one, please let me know. If not, please consider starting one.

A forum search would be nice, too. I can only imagine how many people post duplicate threads. I scanned and manually searched 6 pages of headlines for rss/rdf, but that surely wasn't as complete as a real search would be.

Thanks,

Richard Simpson

Forums

Rich,
You have got a great site and active forums also. However I would like to suggest that your forums are little time consuming to use. For eg - All the replies to a thread are not displayed on one page we have to go through the page and one can find only the replies which are current. You can use Phpbb forums or Invision forums also. They are quiet popular and easy to use.

No offence rich 😁

Poor reception: the phone or the provider?

☚ī¸ I recently changed over to Verizon from Sprint and bought an LG VX3100. Poor or no reception, cut-off calls, no calls and choppy calls are just the beginning of my woes. I'm only two weeks into the trial and am SO frustrated! I'm in an urban area with plenty of Verizon towers - and cust. service says it should be fine. Do I need a phone upgrade or is it Verizon?

Some Help, Please.......

I am an ATTWS customer who's contract expired months ago, am now month to month.
The question I have to ask is this: Can anyone recommend a carrier, that beyond any doubt works in both these places, Gainesville, Fl. zip 32614 and Bay Shore, N.Y. zip 11706?
Before I sign with a new carrier, I'd like to know all the facts. I'd appreciate any info in this matter.
(I live in Gainesville, Fl.,32614)
Thank You!
